FAQs

How do I start?

If you've inquired about making an appointment, I will contact you by email or phone. We will then meet for an initial consultation to see if we both agree on working together. These go for ½  hour and are free of charge. Our initial meeting is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about psychotherapy, how to use our sessions and about myself.

How often should I come and for how long?

Psychotherapy sessions are held weekly on the same day and at the same time.  Sessions are for 60 mins. Whether you want to engage in short or long term therapy, I suggest people come for an initial six weeks. It is usual to review our work together here as people usually have a sense whether or not they want to continue at this point. You can of course terminate therapy whenever you decide.

Meditation and Mindfulness Sessions

You can book an appointment for a session. As part of the first session we will discuss what are your goals and intentions and formulate a plan that suits you. To acquire general mindfulness-based skills I recommend a minimum of 3 sessions. Meditation support and guidance is also offered on an ongoing basis as per required.

Confidentiality

Our work together is confidential. I do not discuss it with anyone other than my clinical supervisor, and within this context you are never referred to by your full name. There are a few occasions when holding confidentiality might jeopardize the immediate safety of you the client or a third party and in these instances confidentiality may, hopefully with your consent, need to be reconsidered.
